    GM Korea today began production of the Trax, Chevrolet’s first global small SUV, at its manufacturing facility in Bupyeong. The Trax will initially be sold in Korea, starting early next year.

SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--GM Korea today began production of the Trax, Chevrolet’s first global small SUV, at its manufacturing facility in Bupyeong. The Trax will initially be sold in Korea, starting early next year.

“The Trax was designed and developed by GM’s team in Korea for markets around the world,” said Joaquin Nuno-Whelan, Chief Engineer of Global Small SUV, General Motors. “It is based on GM’s global vehicle architecture, which has been recognized worldwide for its excellent ride and handling and benchmark safety performance.”

The Trax will be available with a 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine along with a six-speed automatic transmission in Korea. The highly efficient engine has maximum power of 140 hp and maximum torque of 20.4 kg·m.

With a length of 4,245 mm and a wheelbase of 2,555 mm, the Trax provides space for up to five passengers. The Trax will be a perfect choice for both commuting in the city and enjoying lifestyle elsewhere.
