SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--GM Korea Company has launched the 2013 Alpheon, which offers improved fuel efficiency and enhanced safety and convenience features.

“On top of adding to its globally proven safety, the 2013 Alpheon takes driving pleasure to the next level,” said Ankush Arora, GM Korea Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. “Its next-generation six-speed transmission improves both fuel economy and performance. We are confident that the 2013 Alpheon will exceed consumers’ expectations for luxury cars.”

The 2013 Alpheon has an emergency stop signal as standard on all trim levels. During emergency braking, the emergency stop signal makes the brake lamps flicker simultaneously in combination with ABS activation to warn other drivers and prevent a potential rear collision.

For models with a 3.0-liter engine, a heated steering wheel and massaging seats also come standard, including the front passenger seat for the first time in the Alpheon’s segment.

The styling of the 2013 Alpheon has been upgraded with a new dark grey background color for the front chrome grille, ocean blue outer rings for the HID headlamps and tactile buttons for doorknobs. This also improves visibility and convenience.

The 2013 Alpheon is equipped with a next-generation six-speed transmission that offers fast response, optimal shift timing and high efficiency. Rack electronic power steering replaces hydraulic power steering in models with a 3.0-liter engine for faster response and more precise handling.

The combined fuel efficiency of the 2013 Alpheon is 10.8 km/l for models with a 2.4-liter engine, 9.4 km/l for models with a 3.0-liter engine and 12.1 km/l for models with eAssist.

The 2013 Alpheon’s price starts from KRW 31.31 million for models with a 2.4-liter engine, KRW 36.07 million for models with a 3.0-liter engine and KRW 36.94 million for models with eAssist (which also receive a tax exemption).
