SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--A global powerhouse in electrical engineering and electronics, Siemens Korea (Siemens Ltd. Seoul·SLS) announced that the company conducted the “Forest Restoration ESG Campaign (Bee Saving Project)” at the National Center of Forest Education, Chuncheon, on April 29.

The campaign was hosted by the Korean Red Cross and the Korea Forest Service to restore forest ecosystems in the Civilian Control Line area, where soil is being lost due to the climate crisis. The program was designed to carry out various environmental maintenance activities such as planting native species to create an ecological forest of about 1ha within the National Center of Forest Education in Chuncheon. Apart from Siemens employees including Mr. HaJoong Chung, President and CEO of Siemens Korea, a total of 250 participants from other sponsoring companies took part in the campaign.

Siemens Korea made a donation worth KRW 10 million to the Korean Red Cross for this ESG Campaign, to contribute to the preservation of the environment and build a sustainable ecosystem for future generations. Siemens Korea has also continued its efforts to practice ESG management by supporting the recovery from the Türkiye Earthquake, the forest fires in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, and the earthquake in Nepal. In recognition of its social contribution activities, Siemens Korea was awarded the “ESG Verification Certificate” by the Korean Red Cross.
