With 45 years of professional experience, Dr. Masaki Tan has been the director of NAKADA Geriatric Health and Welfare Facilities since 2013, having been the director of Kitakami Kiboen Geriatric Health and Welfare Facilities from 2011 to 2013. Prior to obtaining these roles, he was vice director of Wakayanagi Hospital from 1998 to 2011 and head of the department of surgery at Isawa Prefectural Hospital from 1994 to 1998. From 1988 to 1994, he was head of the department of surgery at Kitakami Prefectural Hospital, having held the same position at Ofunato Prefectural Hospital from 1985 to 1988. Earlier in his career, Dr. Tan was an assistant professor in the department of surgery at Tohoku University from 1973 to 1985.

Dr. Masaki Tan began his career as a student at Tohuku University, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine in 1971. He continued his studies with the school, completing a Doctor of Medicine in 1978. He subsequently joined Kinki University, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws in 1985.

A respected voice in the industry, Dr. Tan has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Chemical Society, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the International Society of Personalized Medicine. He has also written extensively in his areas of expertise, including the books “Recent Advances in Chemotherapy” and “New Applications of OK-432 in Cancer Patients.”

Throughout his career, Dr. Tan has been recognized for his contributions. He was honored with the World Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Biographical Institute in 1999 and the Gold Star Award from the International Biographical Centre in 2000. Likewise, he was featured in the Royal Book of Diplomacy and Science from the London Diplomatic Academy in 2005 and 2009.
