SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA--(Korea Newswire)--WeWork, a global network of space, community and services, announced today that it will open ‘WeWork Sinnonhyeon’ in March 2020, the company’s 19th location in Korea. With the opening of WeWork Sinnonhyeon, WeWork is expected to build a physical community that can accommodate over 25,000 members in Korea alone.

WeWork Sinnonhyeon adds to the company’s growing portfolio in Seoul where it is located at the center of Seoul’s representative commercial district, Gangnam Station. WeWork members can benefit from excellent business infrastructure as well as highly active retail scene in the area. Placed within walking distance of major subway stations such as Sinnonhyeon Station (Shinbundang line) and Gangnam Station (Line 2), WeWork Sinnonhyeon is well positioned to offer close proximity, excellent and convenient access from anywhere in the city.

Building on the strong growth momentum in Korea, WeWork is expected to generate a tighter network effect through interaction among different locations in Korea with the opening of WeWork Sinnonhyeon. Furthermore, with a total of 12 locations in Gangnam area alone including WeWork Sinnonhyeon, WeWork will continue to expand its powerful creator community, together with the opening of WeWork Gangnam Station II in April, WeWork Sinsa and WeWork Seolleung III in July.

“Coupled with WeWork’s dedication to empowering startups, SMEs, large enterprises and freelancers in Korea, the new location will be an additional touchpoint to WeWork’s global community of over 400,000 members,” said Matthew Shampine, General Manager, Korea at WeWork. “From numerous new locations to our very recent first Powered by We deal with Samsung Multicampus in Korea, we will continue to work closely with our partners to provide a great workplace experience and a vibrant and creative community for a wide range of both global and local companies, while creating tangible economic value for Seoul.”

By continuously expanding its portfolio, including WeWork Seomyeon in Busan, the first WeWork location outside Seoul, in April, and WeWork Hongdae in June, WeWork has been reshaping Korea’s business scene and redefining conventional norms of workspaces into platforms for creators. WeWork will continuously be the key player in providing space, and strengthening network opportunities for startups and small to medium-sized companies in search of office space, as well as large-scale enterprises seeking to establish an innovative business base in the area.

In particular, WeWork has recently signed the first ‘Powered by We’ deal in Korea with Multicampus, Samsung’s HR service partner, and will sublease six floors of WeWork Seolleung III by customizing the space that encourages innovation and collaboration. Kickstarting the partnership with Multicampus, WeWork plans forward to actively bring the Powered by We service, a product that brings WeWork’s data-driven approach to designing, building and operating workspace directly to enterprise companies in Korea.
