    KOHI Successfully Concluded ‘Communicable Disease Control’ International Training Program

CHEONGWON--(Korea Newswire)--Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare, KOHI(President; Lee Sangyong) successfully concluded ‘Communicable Disease Control’ with KOICA. The course is part of Korea's ODA plans. 11 health officials, professionals and medical doctors from 9 countries: Laos, Sudan, Cambodia, Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia, East Timor, Haiti, Colombia, participated in the course from 3rd, Jul. to 22th, Jul. in 2011.

The course was designed to review successful Korean health and Communicable disease control policies and projects. Trainees also analyzed specific issues of their own countries and drew solutions and action plans through a series of workshops. Quality Lecturers from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korea CDC, and medical schools helped the trainees learn and understand the programs throughout the course. The trainees also visited the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Yonsei University Hospital and Busan National Quarantine Station to see and learn Korea‘s health systems and Jongro 119 center, Hyundai Motors and Heavy Industries, and Gyeongju cultural heritage places to experience Korea’s culture and industry.
