Russell Global Indexes: Asia Outperforms Other Regions for Month of June 2011

SEATTLE, WA--(Korea Newswire)--The Russell Global Index reflected a return of -1.6% in June 2011 as major global regions posted negative returns for the month. The Russell Asia Index outperformed other regions, posting a loss of 0.5% for the month of June, followed by the Russell Latin America Index (-0.6%), the Russell Asia Pacific Index (-0.6%) and the Russell Emerging Markets Index (-1.4%).

In regards to sector performances, consumer discretionary (0.2%) was the only sector in the Russell Global Index to reflect a positive return in June, followed by a flat performance for Utilities (0.0%). Technology (-3.4%) and Energy (-2.5%) reflected the lowest returns among the sectors in the Russell Global Index, posting losses of 3.4% and 2.5% respectively.
