CHEONGJU, SOUTH KOREA--(Korea Newswire) July 30, 2018 -- Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare(KOHI) announced that it had successfully finished ‘Multi-year Competency enhancement of Diagnosis and Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder for Children for Bangladesh (2016-2018)’ with 15 experts of Bangladesh's autism spectrum disorder (ASD) field for two weeks from July 15 to 28 cooperating with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

This multi-year training program for Bangladesh, started from 2016, has been planned to strengthen competency of ASD diagnosis and treatment for children, and now the last course is completed in great success.

The participants established ‘Action Plan’ in Workshop, with evaluation on how they implemented the knowledge and skills learned for the last two years. This workshop was instructed by Prof. Yang Moon-bong in Baekseok Univ. including discussion of long term plans for ASD-related policies and training system. Also, there were practicums for ASD diagnosis tools, Early Intensive Behavior Intervention (EIBI), and Medicine treatment in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNUBH) and Edu-vision. Prof. Yu Hui-jeong in SNUBH, and Prof. Yang served these programs.

Pavez Rahim, chief coordinator of Autism & NDD Cell, Health Services division, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in Bangladesh, said that, ″Through this training program, we had developed our long-term plans for diagnosis and treatment of ASD, especially for the training system of specialists and policies.″

KOHI Global Cooperation Center has been running various programs for developing countries’ capacity development in health and welfare fields, and also held forum and seminar for international cooperation experts in health and welfare regularly.
